Description
In this self-checking, self-paced activity, students get out of their seats, talk math and practice writing equations for lines that are either parallel or perpendicular to a given line. Students will also need to apply concepts involving slope, opposite reciprocals, substitution and solving in order to write the new equation. Students will start at any problem and work their way through twelve problems. They will write the new equation for the line that is either parallel or perpendicular to the given equation and then look around the room at the top of the papers to find their answer. Students will use their answer from the previous question to find the next problem. Students should write down the doodle picture of each problem that they are on so that the teacher can easily tell whether the students are completing the problems correctly through the given answer key loop.
There is a student work space sheet included in this product for students to use during the scavenger hunt to keep their work organized.
BONUS: Homework worksheet or additional practice worksheet on writing equations for lines that are either parallel or perpendicular to a given line with an answer key is included!
