Description
Do you need a fun, rigorous way for students to review equivalent forms of fractions, decimals and percents? This 72-card set with 24 match sets (a fraction, decimal & percent) can be used in several ways:
1. Individually/Partners – Memory Game
2. Individually/Partners – Matching Game
3. Teams – Spoons Game
BONUS: Riddle Review worksheet that helps students practice expressing each number in the three forms – fraction, decimal and percent.
I used this fractions, decimals and percents card set in my classroom to play Spoons. They had the BEST time! But you can use it anyway that works with your students.
About Spoons Games:
•Divide students up into teams of 3-5 and have them sit in a circle.
•Give each team a deck of cards (that you have prepped ahead time) and spoons
(one spoon less that the number of players).
•Students choose a dealer and dealer will deal out three cards to each player.
•Dealer starts by drawing a card from the top of the remaining deck. They can
choose to keep it or pass it. If they keep it, they pass a different card from their
hand. This continues around the circle passing cards and deciding which card to
pass. Each player should only have 3 cards at one time.
•The first player to have a complete match of 1 fraction, 1 decimal and 1 percent
grabs a spoon. The rest of the players race to grab the remaining spoons. The
person who is left without a spoon loses that round and gets a letter on the
score sheet to spell out MATH.
These SPOONS games are perfect for math centers, engaging test prep, RTI, enrichment, early finishers, tutoring, and even inside recess.
