Description
In this self-checking, self-paced activity, students get out of their seats, talk math, and practice writing equations given a table.
Students will need to find the area of each polygon to find each solution and make a complete loop in the scavenger hunt. Polygons that are included are: rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, kites and trapezoids. Students will start at any problem and work their way through twelve problems.
They will find the area of the polygon and then look around the room at the top of the papers to find their answer. Units from answers have been omitted in order to not give away the solution. Students will use their answer from the previous question to find the next problem.
Students should write down the doodle picture of each problem or the corresponding letter that they are on, so that the teacher can easily tell whether the students are completing the problems correctly through the given answer key loop.
There is a student workspace sheet included in this product for students to use during the scavenger hunt to keep their work organized.
